We have a client side java application

It works fine for java 7 -25 update and earlier version on client computer. After updating to java 7 – 45 , it no longer works when we try to launch the application by using .jnlp file.

The exception that we got so far is :

java.lang.NullPointerException
    at java.io.StringReader.<init>(Unknown Source)
    at org.glassfish.appclient.client.JWSAppClientContainerMain.
insertMaskingLoader(JWSAppClientContainerMain.java:186)
    at org.glassfish.appclient.client.JWSAppClientContainerMain.
main(JWSAppClientContainerMain.java:132)
    at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)
    at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source)
    at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.executeApplication(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.executeMainClass(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.doLaunchApp(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.run(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

Please give me some suggestions .

Thank you

Please show us the code where that exception happened, please. I cannot see how the upgrade contributed to the Exception.

Check the release notes for Java 7u45. I see one thing in there that might be your problem:
Area: Deployment/Plugin
Synopsis: Non-JNLP trusted applet fails to load using the file:\\ URL.

Local trusted applets that do not deploy using a JNLP file will fail to load by throwing a java.lang.NullPointerException. You can work around this issue by using one of the following methods:

Use a JNLP file to launch the applet.
Try loading the applet over HTTP or HTTPS.

Good grief. Quite surprising that there were no line numbers.
