I understand that velocity is one of view technologies. I see that there is a chapter on velocity + struts, spring. What do you exactly cover in chapter 5 "Creating Stand alone applications with velocity"
Is it about code generation / something else?

In chapter 5, I cover the creation of a Swing-based e-mail newsletter application. The Swing stuff is fairly basic but it is interesting to see how useful Velocity is outside of the web app environment.
