Hi

I have used session con-fig element in web.xml to configure session expiration.
I have set the session timeout to 10 minutes.
But in my application, after user successful login , user performing data entry operation for more then 10 minutes. Because it takes time
to type the all the values during entry process.
He is continuously working on client side but for about 10 minutes no request is sent to server. so after 10 minutes when the user submit
the data it say session expired.

so i need to make session to be expired only when the user haven't performed any actions on the client side.

can you help out?

You can use auto save mechanism, to save partial data until the user has not submitted his/her form. This will make a request from client to server for auto save and the session will not timed out and when the user clicks on submit the form is fully saved.

There is setInterval function in javascript, which could be used to save data partially.

Have a look at this for example
