I'm glad to inform you all that I have cleared OCEJWCD 6, although I did not get enough score what I expected, it was worth doing it.
I would like to write some of my practice cause I believe it would help a bit for all those whose are preparing for that.
Study guide lines I used: - Read thoroughly OCEJWCD Study Companion: Oracle Certified Expert Java EE Web Component Developer 3rd Edition (for Exam 1Z0-899) twice and to understand each question of all the chapters and do the available mock exam. The book offer lots of code and a war archive to try much examples. Check out ERRATA of the book
- Read out Servlet 3.0 JSR and take notes. Spend your valuable time on Listeners, Annotations and Asynchronous Servlets. Learn by heart most important methods signature from the Java EE API
- I used Piotr Nowicki exam simulator, very useful and it helped me a lot to understand some questions with his really good explanations.
- Enthuware simulator was a good option. I passed all the exams they have with marks between 75% to 96% in all exams. This simulator allow you to prepare questions of each area separated to improve their knowledge.
- Take a look of SCWCD Links from here! Very interesting documents that it is worth reading!
Preparation & Exam time: You have 140 minutes to complete the 57 questions of the exam. Time is more than enough. I finished 30 min before and I had time to review. Questions were a little more difficult than questions in Ethuware simulator.
Thank you all for all the help I got!
P.S.: What's next? Webservices, JPA or EJB? I think, JPA but not sure..
Congrats for passing the exam !!
Thanks for sharing preparation steps. That surely will help all future aspirant of this certification.
Regarding next certification query, that decision should be based on your usage and interest.
All Certifications are good (EJB, JPA and Web Services). No comparison can be drawn among these certifications as they are on totally different technology or strata.
EJB is used for Middle-tier processing. JPA is used for DB related activities ... Web Services is mainly used for Distributed system processing.
So if you are going to work on mainly Middle-tier, then, EJB cert will help you. Likewise for others.
Or if you have interest toward Web Service, then , Web Service cert will be beneficial for you.
For example - I have started prep for Web Service cert as my current interest is toward Web Service and SOA world.
So just decide your interest and future usage, then , choose your cert.
Happy Learning !!!
