CSS including not working in JSF2.0

I'm new to JSF 2.0. i want to apply style for JSF LAYOUT like want to change remove border, set bg color. It is working through the style. but it's not working when i included css file. Is there any other way to include css file in JSF. And also i have removed dafault styles using

The Oracle docs on this element are really putrid, but apparently the following should work:

I'm not sure what your absolute resource path resolves to in terms of an actual URL (you can use a browser's View Page Source feature to check it). There's a good chance that it's overriding JSF's concatenation of the webapp context into the generated URL.

Using the above notation should work if your WAR has a /resources/css directory in it.
