Using Windows 98 (I have to in order to connect. I bought a Win modem by accident when I got the computer), it seems that http://www.javalobby.org is not as fast as this place (Electric Porkchop). What are your experiences?
I think your opinion would be different if you had tried to access this place early on Friday morning. Something was seriously gumming up the works! Since this site is hosted by an ISP with dual T1's and the pages are pretty lean, they come up pretty fast. I'm in the process of setting up my own servers via an ISDN connection, but I think I'll leave the porkchop at the ISP.

Yeah, but JavaLobby's much prettier!!! ha ha I also think they built it as a proof of concept for the "Activated Community" idea. They have a whole lot of flexibility to alter that idea in ways that don't even exist(AFAIK) today , because of their use of XML and Servlets.
