When we set the ui:debug to some key combination, a UI View tree appears...is it taking values from this hidden field javax.faces.ViewState to build that tree?..is this hidden field used any where in post back request processing ??

I believe that the data displayed includes the state values as of the time the View was rendered.

I am a little unclear about the "invisible field" that was mentioned, but one of the things that the JSF h:form element does is construct an invisible text item for tracking View State, yes.
