I know that it seems to be some of the troubles that has been asked in this forum, which I also read, but I'm still having this problem on my working PC.
I tell you what is my problem.

Some years ago (2 or 3) I installed in the same machine the jdk 6 I don't remember which update, it worked fine, but when updating to "update 25" or "update 29", it always failed to update it. I lived with the tray icon message that hasn't updated correctly for a while. So, I decided to uninstall the jdk 6 and install the newer, the jdk 7, now it's the update 45.

I downloaded the file: "jdk-7u45-windows-i586.exe" and when I double clicked on it, it appears a UAC prompt, I click on "accept" and then nothing happens. It doesn't install anything.

I read a lot of forums, including the installing steps in the oracle webpage.

I clean the register under "LOCAL_MACHINE" I deleted an entry which contains information about the older java 6 installation.
I ran the downloaded file as an administrator and had the same behaviour.

I also tried with this jdk versions:
jdk-7u13-windows-i586.exe
jdk-7u45-nb-7_4-windows-i586.exe
jdk-7u60-ea-bin-b02-windows-i586-18_dec_2013.exe
jre-6u45-windows-i586-iftw.exe
jdk-6u45-windows-i586.exe
jre-7-windows-i586.exe
jre-7u15-windows-i586.exe
jxpiinstall.exe

(I also tried to install the jre, but it also fails)

I look forward for some pieces of advice
Thanks

i realized my first post might have seemed insulting. i'm sorry, i was just trying to eliminate obvious answers. from what you posted you tried everything you could to get it to work. personally i am absolutely terrified of going anywhere near the directory. you probably checked the download file size as well. all i can tell you is that a couple of months ago i had to reinstall java myself. i downloaded the enterprise edition. when i double clicked it, it didn't even get as far as you got. while it was still extracting the files it gave an error message that it couldn't find the JRE. i downloaded it again with the same results. so i tried getting just the JDK(64 bit) and that worked just fine. so i am guessing that it might be Oracles fault. there are a lot of knowledgeable people here so maybe you can get better help from them. just trying to help.

Welcome to the Ranch

Please tell us what error messages, if any, you get when you try to install JDK7u45. What happens when you go to control panel→add/remove programs?

Randall: your message hasn't been insulting! I obviously checked that my CPU is 32-bit and I downloaded jdk7u45 for 32 bits. I didn't check if it was an md5 error, but I don't think so 'cause I tried with different jdk versions, online and offline versions and I always get the same result.

Campbell: The big problem is that when I double click on the installer, it prompts the UAC message to elevate the privileges, then accept it and afterwards nothing happens, I don't get any message. Absolutely nothing.
In control panel - add/remove programs nothing changes too.

Thanks for your quickly replies, any advice I'll consider

Do you have administrator privileges? If you cannot get such privileges the installation will never run.

Yes, I do have administrator privileges.

Also, at my PC home I have the same OS version (Windows 7 32 bits), I installed recently, so it has never been installed jdk yet. I tried to install jdk7u45 I could do it with success, without any problem. Therefore I think that in my work PC I have some register configuration that rejects to run the Windows installer.
Any ideas?

I repeat, Some time ago I installed jdk6u20 or something like that, and then I remove it (but the register doesn't clean at all).

Perhaps the system log viewer might show something? I don't have much experience with Windows OS, so all I am doing is guessing.
