Problem while using SQL command line in case of Oracle database 10g express edition

Hi everyone,
I don't know if it is the right forum to ask my query but
please answer me as soon as possible.

I've installed oracle database 10g express edition
Then sql command line if i'm giving sql commands
then i'm getting a message: "Not connected".


please tell me necessary steps that i should take in order to
use sql command line properly.

When you say command prompt, are you referring to oracle's sqlplus?

If so "sqlplus / as sysdba" to connect as dba or "sqlplus user/password" as user.
