Site usability request

First, let me say that I really like the look of the ages when viewing a given thread. I hope that that look is carried through to more of the site.

That said, indulge me as I make one nitpicky comment/request. At the top of the page, in the left most frame, are three (3) buttons -- home, forums and hide categories. My issue, as it were, comes into play when replying to the thread. Once you hit the submit button, you are returned to the bottom of the thread at your post (which is the way all sites tend to function).

Would it be possible to duplicate the three buttons at the top on the bottom, plus adding an additional button -- Return to Category. To return to the category, the user needs to press the back arrow three times, which is just clunky. Or, scroll to the top and press one of the Home, Forums, Hide buttons, and then scrolling down to find the category. Neither option is user friendly, nor are they very elegant. If there is a method I'm overlooking, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks,

Robert

We have made the category available both at the top and bottom of the page. The text beside it says "Forum(s) this topic resides in". I've attached a screenshot for reference.

Thank you. We do plan to do that for the rest of the site too.

I understand that I am not the brightest crayon in the box, but I'll be honest, looking at the page for this topic, I see nothing that says "Forum(s) this topic ..." Let me just add that I am looking at the beta pages.

Do you see the "post reply" button at the bottom of the page? It is right above that.

Oops! I used one of my test accounts which doesn't have super powers and I see what you mean. That section is indeed missing from the beta view for regular users. We'll fix that. Thank you again for raising this.

This is now fixed and you should be able to see that area now.
