Did I miss something? Or was I naughty in some way? The entire section of forums containing Meaningless Drivel, the Rattlesnake Pit and all their friends is missing. I'm so lost and confused.

Seriously, though, is something up? Problem with that section, a change in user privileges, ??

It's showing up fine for me. Do you have a screenshot of what you see in the forum listing page? I checked your profile to see if you have disabled certain forums/categories to be hidden from view, but you haven't, so that doesn't seem to be playing a role.

I don't know if OP and I are talking about the same problem, but sometimes the page where it lists all the forums does not render completely and as a result you see few forums missing on the lower end of the page.

Yup, I see that now and again. Try refreshing the page a few times and see if the issue persists.

I see it occasionally on ordinary post pages, too. Makes the code blocks look funny sometimes. But refreshing always seems to fix it.

I have the same problem.

I have tried different browsers but it seems to happen every now and then (even on my mobile devices) on every browser. A single refresh always helps though.

Same here. I didn't see those forums and thought that good old JR was changed to dump these forums! Glad that the are intact :-)

Is this a recent thing or has this been going on for a while? When this happens again could one of you try and reproduce this with firebug (or some such tool) and post some details like the response status code and related details like bytes sent (I think some screenshots of those details would help too).
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
