Jagzilla and Derby DB combination

We are planning to use Jagzilla and the Derby DB for our bug management system.
Jagzilla is the java version of bugzilla and is the most efficient bug management sysytem in teh market right now. The struggle is, I do not want to go for My SQL as the DB. Did some R&D and found this open source DB DERBY which is part of apache projects.
Trying to evaluate if the DB works well with jagzilla. Any guideline on this direction will be helpful.
