report generation in FARSI using jasper reports

Hi,
We are using Jasper Reports for report generation, the data is gleaned from Oracle9i Database. The table contains data both in English and Farsi.

The report i generate has a column say description which is in Farsi[the description is in alphanumeric characters.]
In the report the description column displays only alpha characters in "farsi" whereas the numerals are in English. To solve the display of numerals in Farsi i'm using "KHORSHID" font. In doing so, we are getting both in farsi.
Now when i send for print using JasperPrintManager.printReport() i'm unable to get the alpha characters. i'm getting some rectangular boxes in the place of alphabets. but numerals are coming fine in farsi.
when i try to print it directly from the Ms-Word document, it's working fine.
can anybody tell me the solution for this.
