We are developing a project which has forums included in it, after searhing the internet we have found out JForum 2.1.4
which we have desided to use it as it is but with some modification. We want to use a different database i.e Oracle 10g Database.

The structure of the database with JForum is such that it includes a single properties file from which it reads the required quries to excute, so my question is , if we just update the qureies as per Oracle standards and use it will this work with JForum?

There are no types of database objects (like tirgger / procedure/functions/...) are used : Only tables and queries.
