Embed Image in Post

At times I find it value to be able to embed images like screen captures of UI. I have been able to do this using the [img] tag, but that creates a link to where I host the image. It there a way to actually upload the image to the coderanch.com, so that the image will not disappear from the post if I end-up removing it from my site someday?

Thanks.

If this is the wrong forum for this question, please let me know where I should post.

Thanks - I'll give it a test here (didn't see a sandbox anywhere on the site).

It looks like it does work - too bad it does not show-up in the Preview.
Thanks for the help.

It is usually better to cut‑‑paste text than to add screenshots, however. Text would show up on preview.

other advantages to text:

it is searchable
others can cut'n'paste it into other files - like if they want to try compiling the code themselves.

There are only two hard things in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-one errors

Agree with the others; images are fine for things that cannot be shown in text. But please post text as text.

Understood. In this case I wanted to show that hovering-over the R class would pop-up a box with the fully qualified class name. The code wasn't relevant.

Thanks again.
