can we keep two jdk versions

Currently i have installed jdk 1.6.I need to install jdk 1.7.Can i install 1.7 while keeping jdk 1.6 or i have to unstall jdk 1.6?
can't we keep two versions of jdk at same machine ?

I am using eclips.So when eclips running which version of java use by eclips?
As i am usin Google App engine plugin i need to be select 1.7 JDK.

Right‑click the project and look through its properties, in Eclipse. You can set the version of Java used like that.

I would imagine that there is a setting somewhere in Eclipse to select which JDK to use. Searching for "selecting JDK eclipse" would seem to bear that out.
