Job Profile change from non tech support engineer to java developer

Hi guys,
I have 4.5 years of work experience with an IT company as a "non technical support engineer". Last year I got fed up of my work and started studying JAVA. I made my profile in core java and showed my work experience as a Java developer with 4.5 years of work experience. After a very hard work of 7-8 months I learned Java and currently I have 2 offer letter in my hand as a senior Software engineer.

On one side I am very happy that I got these offers letters but at the same time I am afraid too because although currently I have good technical understanding of Java, but since I have never worked on a real time project so my practical experience is almost null. I don't even know what is a bug in a code or how to write effective code according to company standard or what is the roles and responsibilities of a senior software engineer.

Guys kindly help me out here and please tell me what all the things I should know about development before joining the company(apart from bookish knowledge) so that I will not look like a fool there. I will be grateful to you all.

Thank you all.

What do you mean by "made my profile in core java and showed my work experience as a Java developer"? Looks like you have concealed the fact that you were working as a technical support engineer and made it up as a Java developer which in the first place is not ethical.

If you have misled the company about your experience, I imagine you will have a very short career there.

Good luck to you.
