Practice exams other than Enthuware? Tested on items not covered on real exam

I know I am bucking the trend here. Everyone seems to LOVE Enthuware.

For one thing, on the sample exam, they tested us on System.arraycopy and the ternary operator (?).
I am sure neither of those are objectives for this exam.
For another thing, I just don't LIKE it!

Are there any other practice exams that are more similar to the mock exam in Mala Gupta's book?

I am scheduled next week and need something else to test myself with. Thank you to anyone who can recommend other exams!

I had already researched this and was so sure Enthuware was the way to go. Why do people not like Whizlabs or ezpractice?

Well, I tried the WhizLabs sample, and I like it better than Enthuware. The format is better. I signed up for the five exams. Now that I did, I see on their forum some complaints about the same problems I noticed with the Enthuware, They say they are not testing for Java 7 features, and also they are testing for some things that are not on the test.

I am very disappointed. On the first exam alone I found seven questions that were NOT supposed to be on this exam. Some of the topics were file.createNewFile, chained exceptions, which package has classes for queues and maps, arraySort, ternary operator (the reason I didn't go with Enthuware--grr), wrapper…

How come I know what is on the exam and the people publishing the practice exams do not??

I can only talk about our product so here it goes -

The real exam does not contain a static set of questions. Oracle keeps adding/removing questions and keeps fine tuning exam objectives as well. We closely monitor forums for any information that exam takers post about any surprises they got on the exam. We also get feedback from our customers (such as this and based on that we incorporate new content.

In this process, some questions, such as the one you mentioned about arraycopy, do seem to be out of syllabus and unnecessary but they are there because candidates have reported getting a question on them. In our experience, most customers like to go through them. But I agree there are several users who are put off by these seemingly out of syllabus content. It is really difficult to satisfy both the kind of users but we do try by clearly marking questions that are too advanced for the exam so that a user may ignore them if they don't want to spend time on them.

For another thing, I just don't LIKE it!

I respect your opinion and I would love to know if there is something in particular that you don't like about our product. Is it something that we can fix/work on that might make it more palatable to you

thank you,
Paul.

Paul,

I'm sorry now that I didn't try Enthuware. Perhaps I was too hasty.

I spent more money on the WhizLabs, and took a full WhizLab exam. I only did the sample from Enthuware. For all I know, Enthuware's questions more fully mimic those of the real exam. So my complaints now can be more directed toward WhizLab!

My guess is that both Enthuware and Whizlabs are very similar in that they go beyond the goals of OCAJP 7.

I can see why this is not a bad thing per se, but some of us only have a short time before the scheduled exam, and would like an accurate assessment of how they will do. I don't even mind if the questions have a higher DIFFICULTLY level than the actual exam, but would rather they didn't cover extra topics.

If anybody else is considering practice exams, another note I want to add is that the WhizLabs explanations for the questions are not written in good English. In other words, they seem to be written by someone for whom English is a second language, and are often grammatically incorrect. Still, practice is practice.

I just ordered the Enthuware exams, too, since I feel as if I was tricked by WhizLabs. I only have a little bit of time to use them. At least Enthuware cares about feedback.
