Log4j.xml doesn't seem to have any effect

Here's my log4j.xml

- I do have apache-log4j-extras-1.2.17.jar on my class path.
- I have also created CATALINA_HOME as system variable on my windows system.

When I start tomcat from MyEclipse, I expect it to create a abc<Date>.log file under tomcat's log folder. But neither I see that file being created not I see any effect of pattern on even on Console log.

Perhaps I didn't read carefully enough, but I don't see where you tell us where you put that file.
With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
