Passed part 1 today with 85%

Gone thru the study guide - each and every page almost two times.
Practiced mock tests. I practiced these tests to understand the concepts.
Lot of NOT questions helped to understand the concepts.
Study guide is of great help.
Overall preparation around 3 weeks. with around 3 to 4 hours every day.
I passed it thru self study.

Thanks everyone!

Congrats, Vijay. As always, I'm amazed at the people who pass through self-study

Care to share more experiences about your background, and which parts were easier than others?

Thanks Jayesh.

I have about 10 years of IT experience. Primarily in java/J2EE/JEE/spring...etc(dev/maint/support projects).
I do not have prior togaf knowledge. Would like to use togaf if I get a chance.

Regarding togaf foundation exam, it is primarily a memory/basics based exam.
For about 4 to 6 questions, which had more than one right answer, I was able to eliminate 2 wrong answers. It looks like I made simple mistakes so answered some wrong. I knew the right answers soon after I left the prometric center.
I should have studied the study guide(official) one more time.

I finished the test in about 25 to 28 min. I reviewed few items but not all. I ended the test rapidly.

There is nothing like this part is easy that part is tough. You have to read study guide more no times to remember things.

As far as I know Official study guide is all that one needs to read. No other books or docs are required. Practice mock tests. 2 Mock tests mentined in study guide are enough.

In promettic, they did not allow any objects inside(No pen/pencil/watch/mobile/paper/keys/coins/hand towel/wallet/..etc). They also used metal detector.

Congrats Vijay.

This gives me some hope that we can try doing a self study.

Thanks
