nowadays, would you make a web Java project using only Servlets+JSP ?

I'd like to know if, nowadays, you would make a web Java project using only Servlets+JSP, with no frameworks as Spring, JSF, Primefaces, etc.

I think it depends on the project. If I was making a very simple app, yes I would forgo a framework. For a large app, I would want one for the convenience.

Nowadays I would not use any of that. My new apps use a simple RESTful API for the backend and a client-side JavaScript MVC framework.

The days of creating client-side presentation on the server are coming to a close.

P.S. I do use Java and a framework (Play 1.2.x) to create the RESTful API.
