Hello,

Do you know any good Java open source survey applications? There should be possibility to create questions and later answer to the questions.

There should be possibility to write questions like this:

1. You like Java programming? 1-5
2. You like databases? 1-5
3. etc.

1 Agree
2 Maybe agree
3 No answer
4 Maybe disagree
5 Disagree

And there should also be free form questions:

What are your favourite programming languages:
Answer: Java, Scala, Perl...

I want install the application on my own server. The cloud service is not an option.

BR,

Mika

If you're just looking to put a survey together quickly then try Survey Monkey. I've used it before and found it decent enough.

Thanks,

It seems that the Survey Monkey is a cloud based application.

I'm interested in the application which can be installed on my own server.

BR,

Mika

Right ok, you didn't say that in your original post. And on that note: please don't go back and edit your posts after you have had replies as it can make those replies look like nonsense In this case you've made it look like I wasn't paying attention to what you'd written which is not the case as you had not written it.

Have you found any possibilities through your own research? If so what are they? And what do you think of them.

A quick 30 second search yielded this StackOverflow question which lead to a project called the Java CAI Framework (CAI = Computer Aided Interviewing). Perhaps that will help.

Take a look at the GitHub repo for JD eSurvey https://github.com/JD-Software/JDeSurvey. It’s a survey web application built using the Spring.

JD eSurvey is an open source online enterprise web application survey tool written in Java and based on the Spring Framework and Hibernate ORM and is packed with a variety of useful features, including survey statistics. Discover how quickly you can create, publish and analyze surveys literally within minutes.

I work at JD Software the company that published JD eSurvey. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

I generally find software licensed under the AGPL problematic for business use (assuming that Mika wants to customize it, otherwise it's no big deal).
