Jersey Scanner Exception:Rest Webservice

I was following this tutorial

about deploying a web service using Jersey. I am using tomcat container and I am deploying this online. As in, not to my localhost.

When I try to call my web service via the url I get the stack trace below.

I have tried various other tutorials using different versions of Jersey including 1.7, 1.8 and 2.0(I know 2.0 has changes to how it’s called) but I keep getting this error about my URI. I tried removing my init parameters from the web xml but then I get class not found and runtime exception issues. The main error seems
