This week's book giveaway is in the Mac OS forum. We're giving away four copies of a choice of "Take Control of Upgrading to Yosemite" or "Take Control of Automating Your Mac" and have Joe Kissell on-line! See this thread for details.
Not sure if that helps, but some years ago I wrote a simple SAAJ client for one of the examples that comes with the Axis toolkit. The example has probably changed, but it should still get you up and running faster than starting from scratch: http://www.coderanch.com/how-to/java/WebServicesHowTo#saaj-client. And yes, you should work through the tutorial first.
Update: Looking at the current Axis2 distribution, it does come with a "jaxws-calculator" example. If you get that running (instead of Calculator.jws), you should be able to use the client code largely unchanged after adjusting the URLs.
