On my axis webservice I am getting following error in soap-ui.

What can be the root cause? I have the xerces jar in place.

The root cause is as spelt out in the api
documentation wrote:To set the LexicalHandler for an XML reader, use the setProperty method with the property name http://xml.org/sax/properties/lexical-handler and an object implementing this interface (or null) as the value. If the reader does not report lexical events, it will throw a SAXNotRecognizedException when you attempt to register the handler.

A possibility is that the app/web server is running (via class loader tree) a version of sax1 or sax2 without extension implemented whereas the LexicalHandler requires sax2 with extension core v1.

Then you've to look where you put "which xerces" in "which place" - that's all I can say.
I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
