Am i Ready for the EJB certification?

I have prepared for the ejb certification and read all the required documents. I have taken the Epractize lab Mocks and obtain the following:

- Mock 1: 70
- Mock 2: 80
- Mock 3: 86
- Final : 70

After that i though i was ready but then i took the Enthuware mocks and got the following:

Test 1: 55
Test 2: 68
Test 3: 57
Test 4: 60

According to you what do you suggest i do? Can i go and write the exams with these results or do i still need more preparation?

I am planning to take the exams on monday

Do you read the related books , specifications and Frit's notes before you did your mock exams?

I heard someone said Frit's notes are must read. The JSR 318 is the most helpful material for the exam.

Hi Jim,

In general: you should have increasing percentages on the mock exams if you read, verify and check all the (wrong) answers per mock. Apart from that your scores are just not high enough for a passing score of 73% (check the Oracle pages). I doesn't mean you won't pass it just means that it will be difficult to pass. I would advice you to pospone it if is still possible.

If you are going to do the exams on Monday anyway: review all wrong questions, check the specification on the parts you are not sure of. Do a bit of coding to proof some difficult concepts etc. Doing a mock twice won't help much because you will remember a lot of questions and it might give you false hope.

Good luck!

Hi Frits

Thanks for your respond. I will review all the answers answered wrongly in the all the mocks taken and thoroughly review your notes. I have not yet reviewed the answers of Test 4 in enthuware. Can i use it as a test to proof whether i have grabbed the concepts? I mean i got 60 in the first attempt and did not check the answers. If after reviewing the wrongs answers of tests 1,2 and 3 and reading the notes thoroughly and i take Test 4 again and get a 90 and above can i say i prepared for the certification?

I guess you will be more prepared however cramming questions and answers won't help either. It is important that you understand the concepts. Did you code a lot? That will certainly help you with grasping the concepts.

I agree with Frits. The EJB certification is one of the easiest certifications. There are no trick questions like the Java entry exams, no confusing loops to work out. It's just content which either you know or don't know. If you read the suggested materials you should score very high scores.

Check the ScbcdLinks and read the stories of the people who have past the exam lately in the Certification Results forum.

Hi Frits

Given that i have taken all the 4 tests in Enthuware what else can i use to help me know i am ready? Do i only need to do practical work? Because i have gone to all the explanations and read all the required materials. I was able to postpone the exam to wednesday? Any more advice for me please
