Need help finding a job

Hey CodeRanch,

I need some help finding a job in the Los Angeles area. After getting laid off from my previous job which I worked for like 3 months, I have been looking for a job for some time now. I have been using Monster.com, Indeed.com, and Dice.com. Do you guys know any other websites or places where I can apply for Junior web developer, Junior Programmer, Junior LAMP stack developer, or Junior PHP developer. I just got out of college like 1 year ago. I'm still kind of fresh.

Can someone also list me some non-programming job routes like System Admin, Network Admin, ..., what else are there? I really want a job. Any kind in the technology field.

Take a look at your resume. Does it show that you've been doing something for the other 9 months? Projects on your own? Learning? Something?

Network. Talk to people that you know. Friends, neighbors, former coworkers. A lot of jobs are found by someone knowing there is an opening.

Software tester, website admin, help desk, fixing computers, etc.

Also, I would highly recommend having a prepared answer for the question "why did you leave after 3 months?" -- because quite frankly, that question will very likely come up during the interview.
