In one of my database fields I have a path to a RichTextFile. How can I display the contents of this file in a field on my JasperReport?

I'll move this to our Other Open Source Projects forum, where Jasper reports related questions are discussed. Maybe someone there will be able to provide an answer.

This is a shot in the dark, but can JasperReport render Swing components? If so, you could use a javax.swing.JEditorPane in conjunction with javax.swing.text.rtf.RTFEditorKit.

It was my hope someone here would know alot more about JasperReports than I. Can anyone shed light on the use of Swing objects in a JasperReport?

Apparently there aren't a whole lot of Jasper experts looking at the more obscure forums here. I see via Google that there are Jasper forums, have you considered asking your question there?

Please keep in mind that my suggestion of rendering a Swing component was complete conjecture. Jasper may not be able to do that, nor actually be able to render RTF any which way, for all I know. Plus, I just noticed that integration of RTF content is a requested feature (although I suppose it's possible that the requester just hasn't figured out how to do it).
