Using the neighbors wi-fi reminded me of this, my favorite prank hack of all time.

question...isn't this sort of what google got in trouble for? Sniffing and recording data on open wifi networks?

I think the WarKitteh guy (love the name) was just capturing SSIDs and determining if they were open or encrypted. Every smartphone does the same thing. Google was actually packet sniffing and capturing passwords, URLs, emails and other fun stuff.
