I am trying to get a begining understanding of Weblogic, what is it, and where do I go to begin learing about it.
How is BEA involved? When I do a Weblogic search, mostly BEA pages come up.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) is a specification describing, among other things, the services that an application server should provide.
BEA has developed an application server, following the J2EE specification, which they call WebLogic. There are other implementations of the spec, such as WebSphere, from other vendors.
That is why you see BEA when you do a search for WebLogic. It is their product.

As Donald writes, the Weblogic servers are products from BEA. They are:
Weblogic (Application) Server
Weblogic Enterprise (Server)
Weblogic Commerce Server
Weblogic Personalisation Server
Each one offers a different set of features. You can find out more directly from the BEA web site under the drop-down list 'BEA Product Info'.
