Hi

I always wanted to know what effects does Concurrent (or Multi threaded) execution whill have on Java code which uses well known Design patterns ?

For example - we know that we can run into issues with Singleton pattern in concurrent enivornment.

Have we dealt/explained any such scenarios in book ? If we have , then, I shall definitely read those sections to increase my knowledge.

Thanks

Hi Abhay,

You are right that there are issues with the Singleton pattern and we touch on those issues in the book. We wanted to keep the book as focused on design pattern implementation in Java EE so discuss lightly and only where relevant issues of concurrency however the book is not a dedicated to concurrency. Concurrency is a big and complicated topic, and there are many great books available that would complement ours.

Thanks Alex.
