Hi All
I have one configuration problem on CLuster ,I just want to know where I have define IP Addresses for cluster Servers eg., serevr11, server12 and serevr13. I have doubt whether it is going to be in the cluster folder weblogic.property file or per server basis folder weblogic.property file.
I hope this is the correct property which is going to be set...
weblogic.cluster.multicastAddress=222.0.0.11
weblogic.system.binAddr=22.11.15.11
weblogic.system.binAddr=22.11.15.12
weblogic.system.binAddr=22.11.15.13
If I am wrong, please let me know.
If any one did clustering on 5.1 please help.
I did clustering on WL6, its damm easy on WL6.
Thanks

Hi,
In WLS6 you can do it from Console.
You should have Multicast address and IP address.
Did you do it from console I dont think you should have any problem doing from Console. Once you configure all
the cluster from the console then before starting the cluster you must first start the Admin Server then
start your rest servers.
But in WLS5 I am trying to do it from script not from console.
I have few problems..
1. First my directory structure is like this
weblogic_install_dir\mycluster\server1\weblogic.properties
weblogic_install_dir\mycluster\server2\weblogic.properties
start script is in weblogic_install_dir I have three start script
I startAdmin.sh
II startServer1.sh
III startServer2.sh
Extraction from startServer1.sh
-Dweblogic.system.name=weblogic_install_dir\mycluster\server1
-Dweblogic.cluster.name=weblogic_install_dir\mycluster
-Dweblogic.cluster.enable=true
I am sure about this setting.
2. Related to weblogic.properties file
Extraction from server1/weblogic.properties
weblogic.cluster.multicastAddress=222.0.0.11
weblogic.system.binAddr=22.11.15.11

I have doubt whether I have to define this configuraion
on the global weblogic.properties file also.
3. Finally do we need to start the Admin Server first as in the
case of WLS 6.x clustering followed by cluster server.
Your advise is really welcome.
Please correct me if I am wrong anywhere or if
I am missing anything important please let me know, especially in 3 weblogic.properties files
Thanks
Hong

hello Hong ,
actually when u r speaking about weblogic clustering , there are few points , one is failover,load baclancing and clustering .Actually when we give that multicast address and create cluster from console in wl6 , failover and load balancing is acheived but what my probblem is "suppose u have that petstore application on one server which is clustered to serveral other say 2 other servers.Now suppose u r buying two things from this petstore web application and u r adding these to items to chart and at the backend , the main server fails , so it will automatically connected to other server as they are all in cluster.But now in the front end the customer does not know all these , so after adding 2 items , he goes for one more item , so now he has to get 3 items displayed in the chart , but this is not happening , instead of 3rd item , it counts it as first item , the old two item's transaction is lost .so in the real world scenario , this should not happen , so kindly suggest me where am i wrong .
Thanks in advance
