file system

Hi,
i have a web application deployed in weblogic with two jar and a war file.In my application, I need to create some folders and files.Where exactly do I specify the path for this, I was trying
#weblogic.io.fileSystem.[volumeName]=[fullPathName] this property in weblogic.properties, but i think I need to use some proprietary classes to access the file system using this. I am not sure. Could anyone throw some pointers on this ??
