I just ran your code and got Toast for clicks on both start and stop buttons. Do the ids in the layout file agree with the those in the code?

my mistake. it is working. but now my problem is the whole code is not working or i can't work with it because i don't have two android phone.will you help me with??

my App is voice chat.you push on "start reciving" button in phone X then in phone Y put the Ip address in the textview and push start button.so you can talk to each other (phone X talks to phone Y)

you have to do it over the Wifi.

did i explain clearly??

Unrelated to your problem - you might want to look at using AudioStream for this type of application - it takes care of the networking/scheduling/de-jittering/concealment/etc for you.
