Hello, I am new to weblogic server. I have used j2ee first time. can anybody tell me the configuration of weblogic so that i can deploy my ejb's on weblogic. Is it possible to test the ejb's on j2ee & deploy on weblogic?
An application that is ready to deploy on WebLogic Server contains additional, WebLogic-specific deployment descriptors and, possibly, container classes generated with the WebLogic EJB, RMI, or JSP compilers. If you receive a J2EE-compliant JAR file from a developer, it already contains J2EE-defined deployment descriptors. To deploy the JAR file on WebLogic Server, you must extract the contents of the JAR file into a directory, add the required WebLogic-specific deployment descriptors and any generated container classes, and then create a new JAR file containing the old and new files. Hi Kapil, Once you make the jar file ready. Weblogic enables hot deployment i.e. you can deploy your EJB jar while server is running. But this is little bit change in WLS6.0 and WLS6.1. In WLS6.0 you can put your jar in the appliaction folder WLS automatically deployes it. But in WLS6.1 hot deployment is enable when you start the server in the development mode, if you are starting your server in the Productiion Mode, putting the jar in the application while the server is running, WLS6.1 doses deploy the EJB jar. By can choose the mode in the start script and changing STARTMODE= false, if want to start the server in the development mode. I hope this will help Rashid
