Hi,
Just wondering how in depth this book goes? After finishing it would a reader be able to write a decent app or is it a case of this is a starting point to give you the foundations only?
By having a glance at the contents, one feels the book would take one to intermediate level. I have developed 1 or 2 apps(very decent in my opinion ). And I think the contents are covering from start to intermediate level.

Yes--it's aimed at people who have experience of Java, but not of Android development. So we start with the basics of creating and deploying apps, and by the end you will learn how to use things like databases and services If you're already an experienced Android developer, we would recommend you take a look at some of the very excellent books that O'Reilly Media produce in the animal series.
