Hi everyone, please excuse me if i am asking a stupid question.
I have my weblogic instance running on Unix. I wanted to have same instance on Windows XP professional or Windows 2000. Since I have done all the necessary configuration and it is working fine in Unix, i just copied the entire wlserver6.1 folder to my windows machine, changed the shell script to batch file and trying to run the instance. I am getting the error "License is expired"
Does it because i can not run unix instance on windows by copying the wlserver6.1 folder.
I would appreciate if anyone can answer me the possible simplest solution to have the same server instance on my Windows XP or Windows 2000.
thanks

I dont think simple copying will work. Have you installed the server in the windows instance. The server configuration is stored in config.xml, so you can this file after installation

in of my previous projects, no developer had installed the weblogic server. instead all the developers copied the entire wls folder from a shared dir (windows 2000)to their local machine on windows 2000 and they could restart the servers in their localhost.
i am trying to do the samething over here. but instead of copying from windows to windows, i am trying to copy the wls folder from Unix machine to Windows.
thanks
