hi all, i have installed web logic server 8.1 . but my problem is the server isnt starting. It is showing some marathon error . when i look in the log files it says that the server isnt binding to port 7001 and The port 7001 is being used by some other services. I have tomcat5.5 but that is on port 6060. As i dont know which service is running on port 7001, i want to change the default port of web logic server to something else. Anybody plz help me in this regard...Plz tell me where to find the conf file so that i can change the port..Thanking u....

config.xml in your domain directory.

By default my version of 8.1 puts the domains in <bea_home>/user_projects/domains/

By the way, when using the configuration wizard, Express configuration uses 7001 and Custom lets you select the port number.

Open up config.xml in your domain dir. There should be a <Server> tag. Change the "ListenPort" attribute to set your WLS to point to whatever port you want to run it on.

P.S: On Unix run netstat -an | grep <port # u want> to check if the port u want WLS running is available.
