Deploying ear on weblogic on windows and linux

I have an ear file that I have successfully deployed on an XP box with weblogic 8.1. I then tried to deploy the same ear on linux running the same version of weblogic and got a 'NoClassDefFoundError' on the first application-specific class in a jar in the APP-INF/lib in the ear. The ear contains two web apps and an ejb and we are using page flows and jsp and all that gets picked up fine. We have tried adding the jar to the WEB-INF/lib of the web app calling the class, and that did not help either. Every time I try something, I keep thinking that I should not have to do it, because I already know the ear works as is.

Any thoughts on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
