In Weblogic Workshop 8.1, I have an HTML Page, whose input is encapsulated in a form bean. I am trying to store data entered by user into the database, through a custom control which in turn uses a database control to exceute SQL queries.

The idea is this:
User enters input on an HTML page->Data is stored in a bean->Pass bean to custom control->custom control calls method of database control passing the form bean->database control executes SQL

How do i make the form bean available to the custom control. Also, how do i make the custom and database controls a part of my web application (i.e. make them available to the page flow)?

Yes, i have the solution. The form bean is automatically available to the action method, so you can pass it to the control from there.

You can make the control available to the web pages by a simple drag-and-drop of the control (from the Application Palette on the left), into the Design View of the main window (also called the Edit Pane) of the page flow where the control needs to be available.

This will cause a new private variable of type control to be automatically added to the source code. You can work with the control from there.

Tutorial for web application development in Weblogic can be found in the Help section of the workshop. Refer to the "Getting Started" tutorials where you are shown how to develop a web app from scratch. It also has beginner tutorials for in-built and custom controls. Other advanced tutorials may also be found in there.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
