Hi
I would like to know the resources for the above mentioned exam.
Please tell me which books should I refer and is there any mock exam for that.
Thank you in advance.

Go here and scroll down until you see a blue box with info about Test 498. It provides recommended texts and a link to a pre-test.
IBM Enterprise Developer Certification: WAS AE 3.5
PS: I'm looking for the trial version of WAS AE 3.5 for NT. IBM has taken this download off of their site, but we need the software to prepare for the exem. Do you have it? Can I FTP it from you?
thanks,
SAF

Hi Thanks for reply.
I wanted to know the material besides this. Whenever you find it please inform me.
Here is your solution for WebSphere. If you register yourself at IBM you will get a sample CD consisting of WAS adv ed 3.5 with VisualAge and so many other tools. please visit the following link: www.developer.ibm.com/devcon or www.ibm.com/developerWorks

Hi, I am working on 498 as well. I think WebSphere V 3.5 Handbook and EJB Development with VisualAge For Java for WAS redbooks are very useful.
Pls share your notes, experience and mocks on ntthang@rim-tech.com.
Thanks in advanced.
Good luck.

I have found the IBM Redbooks to be very helpful in preparing for exams. You can buy them or download PDF version for browsing or printing. The only problem is that there is often too much information.
The best thing to do is look at the Test objectives and read the sections dealing with those topics. The topics may be found in different books, eg. Tuning Guide, Installation Guide, or Programmers Handbook.
Search for Tests by number or certification here. http://www-1.ibm.com/certify/news/
Search for Redbooks here. http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/
Practice tests here ( You'll need to create an account, but it is worth it if you are going to take an IBM test) The test engine is done with Servlets. http://certify.torolab.ibm.com/icetest.jsp

Good Luck to all. I'm taking a test next week myself.

Well, you might want to know that four of the primary authors of that test were myself, Gary Craig and Greg Hester. Take from that what you will...

Kyle,
I just purchased your book a few days ago, it is a page turner. I am enjoying learning about VAJ, WAS and WS studio. I am new to web programming and find the book very helpful. The IBM certification site gives a different book to read about java servlets. Can you tell me, is there a seperate test for websphere studio or is it considered part of the websphere application server test? I didn't see a test for websphere studio.

Yes there is a separate test for WebSphere Studio. It is focused more on web page development. I can't attach to the www.torolab.ibm.com/ad/certify site to check the number right now.
Our book wasn't published the last time the reading list was updated for Test 498. (BTW, it is on the recommended study list for Test 488 (the WAS V4.0 AEs server exam due to be published in 3-4 weeks).
