Extracting Meta data out of Websphere / Visual Age

We have a central repository where we keep all out meta information on the jobs , programs & transactions that are used in our IBM mainframe systems.
Things like Job A runs program PA and uses files FA, FB etc. They are all written in Cobol, Assembler & PL/1. We extract all the required information ourselves.
We are starting to role out our first systems developed with VisualAge for Java running on IBM Websphere servers.
The question is there a "easy" way to get that data "extracted" out of the repositories that VisualAge for Java uses (or are they actually Websphere repositories ??).
Also what type of information should one "extract" from the repository ie. what are the relationships we have to think of/include ?
Any pointers towards documents, sites, whatever will be appreciated.
