The tools and products in the IBM Websphere environment are changing so fast it is hard to keep up. My company wishes to develop in the J2EE environment deploying to the WAS platform. Strategically, what IBM development tools should I be using? I understand that VAJ is being replaced phased out for example?? I need to get my development team up to speed with the appropriate tools and I don't want them wasting time learning old tools. Any advice or suggestions are most welcome.

If you are planning for developing in WebSphere 4.0, you need to buy WebSphere Studio Application Developer. A description of all of the different tools in the WebSphere Studio family can be found in the IDE forum, where this has been a hot topic recently.
