Hi, I have installed Websphere AS as well as Http server. When I do start http server the dos window pops up and tells webserver started. But nothing else like examples or any thing comes up. Can some one tell me a site about step by step tutorial how to run first application in Websphre. Thanks Nasser

Yes, you can. IBM WebSphere Application Server, Advanced Single Server Edition, v4.0 uses xml file as its administrative repository, so you don't have to install DB2 unless you need it for your entity beans.

As far as I know, there nothing special to set. If you install WAS 4 Single server edition, then the repository DOES NOT use DB2 but xml files instead.(you cannot change it) If you install another WAS 4 release, then the repository is a DB2 database.(this is not an option) And if you install WAS 5, then DB2 is not used anymore and has been replaced by a xml repository
