Hi
I am trying to display some description with Currency, for some reason the browser is showing some special characters instead of $ sign.
In VAJ 3.5 its showing the $ sign but not in WebSphere 3.5.4?
Could some one help me on this?
Bala.

Is your WAS 3.5 on Windows, AIX or Solaris?
I've seen this before. I searched on Sun's Java bug report site. Found lots of bug reports regarding the behavior of NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance() method.
It's very likely to be a JDK problem. One option is to hardcode dollar sign '$' instead of using NumberFormat since the appliction is not for international use yet.
