Hi,
I am installing websphere application server AE V4.0. While selecting DB2 folloing message generates
DB2 is not installed on the system or the current version of DB2 does not meet the level required by the product.
I have installed DB2 7.1.0.55
please help.

This is related with some user rights,or db2 was not properly installed on your machine.
Please refer to IBM RedBook Number SG246176.pdf .
You can get this on IBM site.
This red book gives full instructions,on how to install WAS.

When u get the error u can ignore the error by clicking on exit setup and then clicking on resume ... hope u got it .. this will continue with the installation and i dont think u will face any problems as a result of this .. ( we do this all the time)

I have done that way and WS4.0 is installed. Now I am getting another error while i am starting my admin server.
Error
Windos could not start the IBM WS AdminServer 4.0 on Local Computer. For more inforamtion, review the system event log. If this is a non-microsoft sevices, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specified code 10
I am installing on Windows 2000

hi,
This error means,WAS is not able to connect Database repositry.Request please check admin.config in <WAS_Root>/bin.
In this file check Database name and password and all other settings r correct.

Hi ,
service specific error 10 basically means that there is some problem with the repository.u could probably do as edwin suggested. check the admin.config file for ur DB2 connect strings ...and while starting the ap server check and kill all the java.exe processes in the task manager.
