How to use local and shared repository with Visual Age

Hi,
I would like to use both the local and shared repository with Visual Age. I read something where you can use a -i option to specify a workspace/repository -- you set this by right-clicking the VA desktop icon, selecting properties, and enter it in the shortcut page. The article says this is not a documented option and I'm not sure if I'm setting it right because it isn't working for me. Has anyone tried this? I would appreciate any suggestions or examples. If you have other suggestions for using both I would appreciate it. Thanks
