Websphere 4.0.3, a question

Hi all,
In my websphere environment I have installed 5 ears and I have 5 application servers.
Suppose, I want to uninstall and reinstall and ear file and I have done it without stopping the corresponding app server. I have done it by mistake and looks like it corrupted the entire WAS database.
I tried stopping the app server and reinstalling, I even tried rebuilding WAS by running importWASConfig.bat file. Still no luck.
I know this can be solved if I reinstall websphere from scratch after dropping WAS40 database.
My question is rather than doing this, is there any other way for me to rebuild just the was database and solve this issue ?
Or rather than uninstalling the entire websphere how can I rebuild and reconfigure the database alone..
Gurus, pls help
Thanks
Maya
