I am using WSAD 5.1 on windows and WAS 5.02 on unix. I normally do the testing in WSAD locally and after that move the ear file to unix box. When I make an ear file, I am supposed to change the "Virtual Host Name", suitable to unix machine. When I double click the web.xml,in the Overview tab, there is Websphere Binding where I do the necessary change. But when I see the xml view of the descriptor, there is no such entry. My question is, where can I see the virtual host entry, in the ear file.
If you open the WebSphere App Server admin window and navigate to Environment. You will find the virtual hosts in there. Good Luck Praveen

Let me describe the situation in detailed way. When I run the application on my workstation, using WebSphere Test environment, I am supposed to put the "default_host" for virtual server name. But to run the application on unix machine, when I make an ear file, I am reuired to do this change. And I do this change, by double clicking on web.xml and in the overview tab. It run fine in this case. If I don't change this, then I get error related to virtual host, in the unix machine. But I am sure I am not doing any change thru the administrative console of WAS. Whatever I am changing, I am doing that in WSAD only before making ear file.

OK...Sorry for the misunderstanding. Now i Undrestand what you are asking. when you deplow the application all the config files go into <WAS root dir>/config/cells/<node name>/applications/<app.ear>/deployments/<app name> under this directory you can find the app.war/WEB-INF directory which contains ibm-web-bnd.xmi. this file contains the "virtualHostName". This file can even be located in the WSAD environment. Good Luck Praveen
