Our applications run inside of IBM Websphere Application Server v 4.x
We are currently using Log4j's SMTPAppender to report errors via email.
In the near future, my company is planning to adopt HP OpenView for monitoring all production systems.
Is anybody using OpenView in conjunction with Log4j?
I am wondering if I will need to write a custom Appender class.
I found some general information on HP's web site:

Should I use the SNMPTrapAppender to generate SNMP traps?

I agree. Here's the link: http://zeroturnaround.com/jrebel - it saves me about five hours per week
